Thanks for the post.
May I know if the account you were trying to record is associated with a financial institution / bank? If it is, you can add your the accounts in the same way that you added your credit card or checking/savings accounts.
Here are the steps below to guide you:
1. Click on "Your Accounts" link on the upper right corner of your Mint page.
2. Click "Add" under "Financial Accounts" tab.
3. Search for your bank/FI using bank name or url (ex. Chase, chase.com). Supported account type options will be displayed as search result.
4. Choose the right option (Checking and Savings, Credit Card, Investment and Loans) for your bank, choosing the wrong option will result in an error. Please add the account accordingly.
Please make sure to input same set of security credentials like what you have on your bank site, not doing so will result in an error. It should be in the same exact order.
If your the account is not associated within a financial institution / bank, you can manually add it on the "Other" section of Mint.
Steps on manually adding "Other" accounts:
1. Login to Mint.
2. Click on the "Your Accounts" page.
3. Click on Other option at the top of the page.
4. Choose whatever type of asset/loan you want added. If you don't find a suitable category for your assets, you can choose "Other Property", then "Miscellaneous".
This will require you to manually input and update the amount. The account will be reflected as "Debts" on the homepage and will adjust your Networth.
